BLAST and FRYER’s Spring Break Road Trip 2222

BLAST insisted it would be a “classic” Spring Break road trip. FRYER packed the map, a questionable safari hat, and a thermos that may or may not have contained something labeled “coffee.” They left Savior City in a yellow Mini Cooper that looked far too optimistic for what followed.

The first hour was all singalongs and bad navigation. BLAST drove with the confidence of someone who’d watched one too many driving tutorials; FRYER kept checking the map like it might rearrange itself into a better plan. They found a scenic overlook, a suspiciously quiet diner, and a parking lot that, for reasons no one could explain, had more pigeons than cars. Every stop added a new layer of chaos: BLAST’s “shortcuts,” FRYER’s attempts at diplomacy, and SCOPE quietly logging every questionable decision.

Then came the wildlife detour. Two elephants appeared like a punchline and promptly made the backseat a problem. BLAST treated it like an improv challenge; FRYER treated it like an emergency meeting with HR. The Mini Cooper became a tiny, honking ark. They learned three important things that afternoon: BLAST’s optimism is unkillable, FRYER’s patience is a renewable resource, and elephants are terrible at seatbelts.

They returned to Savior City with the car smelling faintly of peanuts and the kind of stories that get better with each retelling. No one asked for receipts. SCOPE filed an incident report that read like a short novel. BLAST declared the trip a success. FRYER booked the next weekend off.
